These Beach Pedestal bowls are a true piece of art for your home. I make these on the wheel and hand paint them with 15+ glaze colors to create a special beach scene — each one different and could never be the exact same. I intentionally layer food-safe, lead-free glazes in certain orders of layering to create that specific beach look. Fill it with fruits or veggies on the countertop or display on a shelf — it’s a perfect unique piece of functional modern art for a coastal or beach-themed home! Price includes shipping & handling  

Hand-painted with over 15+ glaze colors, the artist transports you to the ocean, as if you were sitting on a beach with your toes in the sand, looking out at the horizon. Hence the titles. “POV: Beach II” and “Beach Waves” which are second iterations of the original bowl. 

“Beach Wave” on Terra Red Porcelain-like clay features a slightly wider, lower bowl that’s 8” wide x 2” tall bowl — it can be used for fruits & veggies, or it’s flat enough for bakery items like croissants, rolls, cookies, or other sweet treats! This bowl’s design mimics an ocean wave crashing on the beach, from the sea froth and crashing wave’s bubbles on one side of the bowl, to the glazes melting together to create a blue turquoise sea gradient. The horizon line on the other side of the bowl highlights the Terra Red clay’s beautiful, rich, bright iron red color. The exterior also features a Caribbean Ombré-like gradient, from bright blue to bubbly turquoise. I made this one with two separate bowls thrown on the pottery wheel, then attached together to create a pedestaled, elevated low, wide bowl, creating a stunning art centerpiece. After an initial kiln firing, the piece is hand painted with countless individual glaze layers to create the unique beach ombré glaze effect, from deeper blue to turquoises to sea froth & a sandy beach.

POV: Beach II” on Speckle Buff tan clay features a deeper low bowl that’s 7.5” wide x 3” tall — it makes for the perfect fruit or veggie bowl with higher capacity & depth! The sand highlights the natural clay body, a tan “speckled buff” under a clear glaze. The exterior features a gorgeous Caribbean Ombré gradient glaze on the exterior, as well as hand carved grooves.
