Grate and Mix Bowl, Herb Stripper

Handmade Stoneware Grate & Mix Bowl is great for fresh flavor at your fingertips any time of day! This versatile, dishwasher-safe bowl features a sharp, multi-functional grater surface that effortlessly grates garlic, hard cheeses, ginger, spices, and more — it even grinds large veggies like carrots or tomatoes. Possibilities are endless in this “personal” grate & mix bowl, perfect for mixing in roasted veggies or meat, or grater-required recipes like Pan con Tomate.

These grater dishes are my favorite kitchen tool for quick grating and mixing of dips or marinades (add in olive oil or yogurt, etc!) directly in the dish, then eat or serve in this one-of-a-kind bowl! *MULTI-FUNCTIONAL, SHARP GRATER SURFACE: The grating surface is purposefully rough in order to effectively grate almost anything you want! The rough texture in the middle of the dish grates garlic, hard cheeses like Parmesan, ginger or tumeric roots, peppers, spices like Nutmeg or cinnamon. It even shaves down hard vegetables likes large carrots or tomatoes into a rough paste or even chocolate. PLEASE NOTE: use caution if grating directly with your hand to avoid cutting your finger. Grater surface can be cleaned using a bristled brush and placed in the top rack of the dishwasher.

The dish was thrown on the pottery wheel in my home studio in Costa Mesa, CA, then finished with individual stick marks while spinning on the wheel, then trimmed and fired, then glazed in 2-3 glazes, and then fired for a final time.

- FUNCTIONAL ART - Food-safe, Oven & Microwave Safe, and Top-Rack Dishwasher Safe. Clean the rough grater surface (center of the plate) with a non-metal, soft-medium bristled dish brush and scrub similar to how you’d clean stubborn food off your kitchen plate.
- DURABLE AND LIGHTWEIGHT - Stoneware Ceramic made with locally made & sourced BMix white clay, Speckle Buff tan clay, or Black clay and glazed by hand with Non-Toxic, Lead-Free, Made in USA glazes
- Diamond-sanded to ensure a smooth, non-scratching bottom/foot
- Pieces are individually wheel-thrown by me, a mom of 2, then trimmed, finished, and fired in the kiln; then hand-painted and fired for a final time at over 2100°F – all in Costa Mesa, CA
