The circular shape was thrown in the wheel then trimmed into a round hollow donut shape, then carefully attached to a thin base. The base was carved to mimic waves, and beach shells were pressed into wet clay. After initial firing, the vase was handpainted with 8-10 glazed to create specific variegated ocean-inspired colors, then fired a final time. Glass tube slides into hole at top of vase, independently from ceramic donut vase base.

- Pieces are individually wheel-thrown by me, a mom of 2, then trimmed, finished, and fired in the kiln; then hand-painted and fired for a final time at over 2100°F – all in Costa Mesa, CA
